Kara has been an accomplished riding coach for over 18 years to both children and adults. With a methodical approach that considers the unique requirements of each student, she provides a structured lesson program that allows them to develop the confidence and skill set necessary to compete.
When it is time for competition, you’ll find Kara faithfully present and coaching her students to success. Throughout the summer, she travels with her students to local shows. She specializes in developing beginning riders into winning competitors at all levels, and her skill at matching the proper horse to a particular rider is remarkable.
Kara’s success as a trainer comes from a life of her own triumphs as a rider herself. She began riding at age 5 and enjoys a thoroughly successful riding career. She has competed with esteemed results on the A circuit, qualifying for many prestigious competitions such as MHSA, VHSA, Gittings, and WIHS. Her accomplishments in the competitive world of riding are exceeded only by her victories as an instructor. She has mentored more than her fair share of talented, successful riders and continues to do so every day at Walnut Pond Farm.
